JEFF, I'M OUT TO GET YOU.

so i'm going to share a story from work that really REALLY got to me. usually when i get rude customers, i let it go a few minutes later and move on with my life, but no.. this one made me want to rip my hair out.

alright, about 30 minutes into my shift, this older man and his son come in. they see the sign in the front that says "sunday night special: $9.95 all you can eat appetizers." he asked about it and when it started. informed him that it doesn't start until 5pm, because usually we'd start it around 5:30pm when the usual basketball game would start (which i'm very bitter about by the way. stupid world series). he says, "well that's stupid marketing.. you would think you'd do it now since business is slow." not a big deal right. well, it gets worse. he looks at the menu, and his very decisive son of about 13 years old already knows that he wants the spider roll. his idiot for a father (who's name is jeff, hence the title of the blog) tells me that he doesn't want anything spicy. i point out my favorite roll on the menu, and tell him he can substitute the spicy salmon with regular salmon, and have no spicy mayo on it. he replies with, "soo.. i just said i didn't want something spicy, and you suggest something spicy??" and i kindly responded, "well sir, if you had listened to me, i said you could substitute it with a fish that wasn't spicy." so he gets the roll, and tells me to keep the spicy mayo on it. so i put the order in, he waits, the sushi chef puts the two rolls in one to-go box like we usually do it. he opens it and says, "if you were smart, you'd put it in 2 to-go boxes because i ordered 2 rolls, and me and my son are definitely not going to scrounge for our dinner in one small box." so i fucking bring the order back, put it in 2 boxes, and let him be on his way. he comes back a few seconds later and says, "how many times did i say i didn't want something spicy? how many times do i have to repeat myself? try this sauce it's spicy!!" so i not so kindly this time said "i asked if you wanted it. and it's not even that damn spicy." my manager comes up and tells him that we can re-make it without the mayo, and he storms out saying "this is why all of you guys work retail."

..seriously? i'm so frustrated that some people are that fucking ignorant.

i'm definitely not the happiest person right now, but i thought i would just share that because my brain was about to explode.

gooood fucking night,
cam
